As our winter is turning to spring – here is news of TWO WORKSHOPS that I an tutoring in the coming months.

MYSTERY PLAYDAY – MIXED MEDIUMS WITH FABRIC
Book now to join me at this Guild workshop at Epping Creative Centre on 31 October 2009.

Enjoy a playday with using paint, glue, stamps, stitch, heat, to make silk, paper and other “fabrics” that can be stitched to fabric for gifts or art wallquilts. You can anticipate being involved with a range of mediums such as paper products, Shiva Stiks and paints, silk fibres, painted webbing, Lutrador and other mysterious products. By being introduced to a wide range of mediums, you will understand how they work and learn how they can be incorporated to make an innovative art-quilt or applied to create lovely gifts. Machines will be required for freemachining (dogs down).

EMBELLISHING ART QUILTS WITH ANGELINA FIBRES

Angelina is a wonderful addition to art-quilts. This workshop will give you an understanding of the different methods of using Angelina fibres and how they may be incorporated into your work. We will be working on a small wall-quilt (approximately A4 size) to showcase Angelina fibres within a contemporary landscape scene.

Although designs will be available to guide you, you may wish to create your own – using my easy method that is loads of fun! Using the office’s sewing machine, minimal machining will be possible ; it is not expected that you will complete the landscape wall quilt in one day. However, you will leave with a planned out piece ready to confidently finish at home.
