Travelling through the Kimberleys, W.A.

August 27, 2011

Entering the Bungle Bungle RangesEventually we made it!   To very relaxed Broome for a few days of acclimatisation (it was 20 degrees jump in the temperature than at home in Sydney) – then onward and upward to explore the Kimberleys.

The magnificence of the ranges,  with all their gorges, waterfalls, and native flora, reopened my eyes to the colour and texture of the Australian outback.  As a textile artist I was enthralled with imagery and the essence of life in this part of our country.

More details of our trip will be posted shortly;  meanwhile here is a ” taster” of a few of the places in which we ventured.  Photos were taken by Chris Priday.

Here you can see a range of exhibits from our extraTexture Fusion exhibition as well as Kerry, Cindy, Barbara and Margaret involved in the preparations.

Now it’s a time of unwinding time with the added pleasure of reflecting on all the lovely comments received from appreciative visitors.

This experience has given me a different perspective on my future as an artist.   My mind has lots of ideas to mull over!
