This is my interpretation of “Every Single Day”, showcasing the dairy industry with its daily milking. It is 15 inch square & is produced for my entry into Latitude challenge, of Every Single Day.
The large bottle is constructed with hand-dyed and printed cotton fabric – the foliage is my attempt to bring in the green clover diet of dairy cows, whilst depicting a milk bottle.
The “shapes” whether they be construed as cow pats (poo) or the shapes on black and white dairy cows were fused cotton shapes in colours that I love. I selected colours of nature and the country.
My three cows were stitched by machine and hand in black thread.
The white yarn was couched in the shapes of udders, which is also mirrored in the upper part of the piece.
I would love to hear your comments, particularly what catches your eye, and perhaps what doesn’t work so well for you.
