Gearing up for Growth Rings exhibition at Dungog in October 2013, I have just finished this piece, having worked on it for over a year (in small bursts at a time). Watercolour painted background is a new technique I have been exploring, and I do quite like the textural effect created. Thermofax prints have been added, in addition to machine and hand stitching. It is as yet unnamed as the image makes me think of a few titles. Love to know what you think of this piece and what your eyes are seeing.
an exhibition of textile art & photography produced by my husband and myself
is to be held in the Arts Upper Hunter exhibition room in Dowling Street Dungog commencing Thursday 3rd October 2013.
We are staging the two-week exhibition to reflect our interest in the landscapes and nature of our recently adopted town of Dungog.
I am showcasing my hand-made textile art pieces including quilts for walls, based on the unique landscapes of the region. Chris’s interest in everything timber is explored via photographic abstractions in colour and black and white.
(More details about exact days & times is coming soon).
Dungog is once again holding the Quiltarama exhibition – in two venues in our town. At the RSL club – also the CWA rooms in Dowling St where demonstrations in textile art are being held.
I will be there demonstrating how easy it is to create individual and unique fabric art postcards. Love to see you there.
