Stitches of travel

Recent travels in Tasmania rekindled my enjoyment of simple stitching.

Applied to two blocks that never emerged into a large wall-quilt, they have a new life by becoming these mini-placemats.  So so handy!

And a way to show off my hand-dyed cotton using Procion Dyes.

During our travels in Burnie, the paper town, we visited their “Maker’s Workshop”.  This is a fabulous centre housing a gallery, artists shop, cafe with wonderful ocean views, various artist demonstration areas, and a paper making workshop with regular tours.   Highly recommended – a must see if you are in that part of Tassie.  (more on http://www.discovernburnie.net).
